How we work

Our software development process: seven steps.

Before work starts, we tell you in writing what each step will deliver. Development runs in two-week sprints, and each sprint ends with a build that runs on your device. Every release to the stores or to production needs your approval.

Step by step

What we deliver
at each step.

Below you will find what we do at each step, what you get from it and roughly how long it takes.

  1. Step 01 / 07

    Analysis & Planning

We agree on goals, users and scope.

Over a few meetings we talk through your goals, your users and competing products. At the end of this step you have a scope document, a prioritised feature list and a schedule.

    You get
Scope document, priority list and schedule
    Timeline
    1–2 weeks
  2. Step 02 / 07

    Visual Design

User flows, interface and a clickable prototype.

We draw the user flows, design the interface in Figma and build a clickable prototype. You can tap through the screens on your phone before any code is written.

    You get
User flows, Figma interface and a clickable prototype
    Timeline
    2–4 weeks
  3. Step 03 / 07

    Development

    Coding in two-week sprints.

We work in two-week sprints. At the end of each one we send the working build to your test device.

    You get
A working build on your test device after every sprint
    Timeline
    Two-week sprints
  4. Step 04 / 07

    Testing

Testing and measuring on real devices.

We test on different screen sizes, OS versions and network conditions, and measure performance and accessibility.

    You get
Test report with performance and accessibility metrics
    Timeline
    Every sprint and before launch
  5. Step 05 / 07

    Client Approval

We go through the final build with you.

We share the final build with you and your team through TestFlight and a Google Play closed test. We don’t release until the approval checklist is complete.

    You get
TestFlight / Google Play closed-testing build and sign-off list
    Timeline
    ≈ 1 week
  6. Step 06 / 07

    Launch

App Store, Google Play and server setup.

We handle the whole release, including store screenshots, descriptions, privacy forms and server setup.

    You get
Store listings, privacy forms and server setup
    Timeline
    Review: Apple ≈ 1–3 days, Google ≈ 1–7 days
  7. Step 07 / 07

    Updates & Support

    New versions, fixes and maintenance.

Updates for new iOS and Android versions, bug fixes, and new features based on what your users tell you.

    You get
Maintenance plan, OS compatibility and new features
    Timeline
    Ongoing

Our support continues after launch. We update your app for each year’s new iOS and Android versions.

Our commitments

The same three rules
on every project.

  • A schedule you know upfront

Before we start, we tell you in writing when each phase will finish and what it will deliver.

  • A demo every two weeks

Every two weeks we send a working build you can install and try on your own device.

  • Nothing ships without your OK

Every release to the stores or to production goes through your approval.
